Airpod Pro’s they have been praised for all of their active noise cancelling and transparency modes. But how good really are these features and is it worth the hefty price tag of $250? Are there better options maybe cheaper option? Fake airpods? Headphones?

Let me start out with a little history lesson about these the Airpod Pro’s. They superseded the airpods 1st and 2nd generation and they were released on October 30, 2019. They have all sorts of features not seen in the first airpods and have a smaller design. They have a rubber tips you can change the size of and they create a seal in your ear. The battery life is good and clocks in at around 24 hours listening time and 18 hours talking time. The microphone quality is very good and picks up the perfect amount of voice and not a lot of background noise. The Airpod pro’s use the H1 chip made by apple. In December 2020 the Airpod Max’s were released and they have an even higher price tag of 500 dollars I will do a review of those in a future blog. As of writing the Airpod pro 2’s are speculated to come out some time in mid 2021 in 2 different versions a lite and a regular. But what is so special about the Airpod pros Let me run you through the features and what they do.

  1. Spatial audio: this is a feature you have to turn on in the settings for the airpods and it allows you to hear audio around your head and you can “visualize” the sound better. While this feature is very exciting it is only supported in a very limited range of platforms.
  2. Active Noise Cancelling: ah all the hype in one feature. You hold your airpods and instantly the world has faded away or has it? After trying this with multiple sizes and seals I have found that yes it does block out the sound of a treadmill or car in the background. It doesn’t block real sounds near you and you can still hear everything.
  3. Transparency Mode: this mode was made so that you can hear your surroundings while listening to music. I personally love this mode because it lets your ears breathe and listen to music. This is perfect for students who are in class or people who need to listen for something but want to listen to music as well. Maybe at an airport listening for the boarding call.
  4. Adaptive EQ: low and mid frequencies of music are automatically shaped to your ear by some technological magic for a richer, more immersive sound. I haven’t noticed a lot of difference using this feature.

So you like the features or maybe you just want headphones in general but you don’t want to pay the price tag of the Airpod Pro’s what are your other options. Well you could go with Bose sport earbuds, google pixel buds, Samsung buds which all have similar design and amazing sound but not the ease of apple, the features, the connectivity, or the popularity that the Airpod pro’s have. There will always be the good ol regular airpods which work perfectly fine. In my case the Airpods fell out of my ears every five minutes but the Airpod pro’s created a seal that has not fallen out once since I’ve gotten them. There are always fake airpods and fake Airpod pros if you want to have the look…. but without any of the features or any of the apple things that the airpods have. The price history for the Airpod pro’s has gone from 250 to 199 where they are right now. If you would like more content please give me a clap and follow my content for more reviews.
